Learning and teaching of English at Our Lady Help of Christians School is based on the NSW Board of Studies K-6 English syllabus and aligned with the school’s Literacy Plan.
In English, students develop knowledge, skills and understanding of the English language and literature and the ability to talk, listen, read, view and write with purpose, effect and confidence. They develop knowledge of how language varies according to context and a sound grasp of language structures, spelling and grammar. The three broad strands of English are:
- Speaking and Listening
- Reading and Viewing
- Writing and Representing
